The State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN), in a statement, said the 106th death was that of case no. 15,961 involving a local man, aged 33, who received treatment at Miri Hospital after experiencing breathing difficulties.
“The patient had a cough one day before receiving treatment at the hospital, and the COVID-19 RT-PCR test showed he was positive for the virus on March 28.
“His health continued to deteriorate and was confirmed dead on March 28. The case had comorbidity of high blood pressure,” the statement said.
It said the 107th death involved case no. 14,029, a local man, 61, who received treatment at Bintulu Hospital after tested positive on March 20 through close contact screening.
“His health deteriorated and he passed away today (March 30). He also had high blood pressure and diabetes,” it said.
To date, there are 33 active clusters in Sarawak, with eight of the clusters reporting an increase in cases while 25 clusters had no increase.
