SEMPORNA – Police here are interviewing friends and relatives of a 50-year-old man who allegedly killed his wife early Sunday after she refused to have sex with him.
The man is believed to have slashed and stabbed his several times at their house at Kampung Pinggir Bakau here at about 4am Sunday.
Semporna OCPD Supt Peter Umbuas said police were hunting for the man who fled the scene after leaving his wife, Norminah Bollok, 38, in a pool of blood.
The man, who is self-employed, was last seen leaving the house with a bag containing the documents of his children.
“A task force has been formed to hunt for a man in Semporna,” said Peter, adding that they were talking to his friends and relatives to get more information.
From the initial investigation, the victim’s son said that at about 4am, the suspect had woken up from sleep in the living room and went into the victim’s room to have sex with her.
However, he was denied, and an argument ensued.
Following that, the suspect was believed to have taken a samurai sword measuring 72 cm long, and slashed both the victims on the arms and wrists, and stabbing her chest three times, causing her to collapse.
Norminah Bollok, 38, died at the Semporna district hospital after her children rushed her there.
The couple have eight children, comprising four boys and four girls aged between 13 and 22.
