KOTA KINABALU: A local businessman had the shock of his life, when he returned from a coffeebreak after attending to some banking matters at Lintas Plaza Wednesday morning, to find his vehicle broken into.

Worse still some RM132,000 that he had withdrawn from the bank about 30 minutes earlier, was missing.

The victim’s car was parked opposite the coffeeshop where he had his coffee, within his eye reach, but the businessman was heard telling police at the scene that he saw nothing amiss.

A cashier at a fast food restaurant where the car was parked in front, also said she did not see anything.

The rear passenger window was smashed open and the money kept in a bag was taken away.

He was overheard by witnesses telling friends he thought that it was safe to just to leave the money in the car for awhile as the place was busy and he could see his car from where he was seated.
