KUDAT: Parti Warisan Sabah has called Anifah Aman out on his promise to quit Umno if the Malaysia Agreement of 1963 is not implemented.
Referring to Anifah’s remark published in the local newspapers on 11 March, 2018, Wira chief, Azis Jamman said if indeed he was a man of his word, then Anifah should ditch Umno and join Warisan in the struggle for MA63.
Azis made the call at an informal gathering with some 800 villagers of Karakit on Banggi Island here Thursday. His remarks were contained in a statement issued by Parti Warisan.
Those present were Warisan president, Shafie Apdal, former president of LDP, VK Liew, ex-deputy president of Parti Cinta Sabah, Paul Voon and former Berjaya deputy minister, Ahmadshah Tambakau.
Also speaking at the event were Banggi Warisan chief, Miasin Nusiri and Kudat Warisan chief, Abu Bakar Angkang.
Anifah, the member of parliament for Kimanis was quoted as saying that he would not stay one more day in Umno or accept any ministerial post if the Prime Minister did not fulfil the rights of Sabahans as promised in MA63.
He said it was his response to opposition parties that often disputed Najib Razak’s promise even though, according to Anifah, Najib was a man known for keeping his promises.
The Foreign Minister was reported as having made the remark at the SK Kimanis Open Day in Kimanis held on 10 March, 2018.
Sabahans are restless as they see Najib’s promise of returning the rights of Sabah as nothing but a political gimmick.
This seems to have been proven true. When Barisan Nasional launched its manifesto, one of the pledges made to Sabah and Sarawak was to make the rights of Sabah and Sarawak in the MA63 a reality but only by consensus.
