KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah government reminded its people to adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOP) for the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration or any kind of festival celebration which was issued by the National Security Council (MKN), including no mass festivities.
State Secretary Datuk Safar Untong said, only a gathering of 20 people under the same household are allowed, depending on the size of the home.
“Among other activities that are prohibited during celebrations are visiting other relatives and friends, balik kampung (returning to hometown), open houses, praying at the mosque, any sort of kenduri, tahlil (visiting of graves), house-to-house marhaban, and parties.
“The state government hopes that the SOP compliance can help reduce the spread of Covid-19 among the community,” he said in a statement issued here, Thursday.
He also urged the public to continue practicing good personal hygiene and keeping safe social distance.
