KOTA KINABALU: The Sandakan Tourism Association (STAN) launched its new Sandakan Essential e-guide in collaboration with Sabah Tourism Board as well as MATTA.

Launched on Saturday at the KL MATTA Fair at PWTC, this e-booklet will serve as a highlight guide for all visitors to Sandakan. It includes the “TOP #10” must-do, must-eat and must-see in Sandakan, as well as other essential travel information.

To many, the name Sandakan Borneo Sabah will inevitably conjure up an image of wildlife as well as lush tropical rainforests.

However, the Sandakan Tourism Association believes that there are much more to be experienced in this Land Below the Wind.

“We look forward to amplify the promotion of Sandakan and the vicinity, starting with agents who are associated to MATTA,” CK Teo, President of the Sandakan Tourism Association pointed out.

“Especially with the domestic market, the positioning of Sandakan needs to be revised to cater to their travel preference; food being a highlight and to also remind them on wildlife excursions.”

Teo suggests that from cozying up with the orangutan in the wild, to a face-off with the proboscis monkey, Sandakan has a varied attraction across the board.

From a unique rainforest dining experience, to a gala dinner party in a modern and chic cafe.

With her blend of wildlife and adventure, unique local eats & fresh seafood, and rich cultures & heritage, Sandakan is the ideal gateway to explore Sabah, Borneo.
