LABUAN: More than 300 school-going children took the opportunity the free-hair-cut in conjunction with the Back to School Program today.
The one-day programs was organised by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Labuan youth wing of Armada.
Its chief Fadilah Eddy Abd Khalid said the event was to help lessen the financial burden of parents after the Movement Control Order (MCO).
The program was fully monitored by Labuan Health Department led by its director Dr Ismuni Bohari and health officer Dr Suppiah Anarsalam.
The standard operating procedure (SOP) in the Shaheen Barber Shop was strictly adhered to with all the barbers were seen on full safety gears of personal protection outfit.
Fadilah said the program would continue every year as part of the Armada’s corporate social responsibility to the people.
Schools nationwide will reopen beginning July 15, with primary students from Year One to Four to resume classes a week after that, Education Minister Radzi Jidin announced on July 1.
This comes a week after Form Five and Six students went back to school as part of the gradual resumption of classes based on SOPs implemented by health authorities.
Schools in the country have been closed since the first-term holidays on March 14 due to the movement control order imposed on March 18.
