TAWAU: Police have detained a dentist attached to a clinic of a school here for allegedly molesting at least five students who came for treatment.

Tawau police chief ACP Fadil Marsus said the suspect was arrested Friday following police reports lodged by five families of the victims.

A Bernama report Friday quoted Fadil saying that police are now investigating the cases.

The suspect, in his 30s, is attached to the dental clinic in Tawau General Hospital. He was detained at the Tawau Airport about 2.30pm while on his way to Kuala Lumpur.

The five are said to be female students of a secondary school at Jalan Kg Jawa, and the alleged incidents occurred at the school clinic.

The Form Four students said the incident happened when they went to the clinic for dental checks.
