LABUAN: The Labuan Youth Council has lodged a police report against a Facebook account holder for allegedly posting a slanderous and an unfounded statement on the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abd Razak as well as the Islam community.

When contacted its president Basran Yunus said the police report was lodged on February 20 at the Labuan police station.

According to a Bernama report, the Facebook user registered under the name of ‘JAMES HUNT’ had also allegedly posted rude statements against the Prime Minister.

“His irresponsible statement could cause racial disharmony and disunity among the multi-racial community in the country,” Basran said.

“We want the relevant authorities to take stern action against them.

“The police and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) need to investigate them and take appropriate action,” he said.
