KOTA KINABALU – Volunteers from the Borneo Toyota Hilux Club (BTHC) embarked a mission over last weekend to help victims of the recent floods in Pitas.
Some 17 four-wheel-drive vehicles were loaded to the brim with foodstuff donated by the club members. The convoy were flagged off at 7 am from Kota Kinabalu.
The volunteers went to Kampung Sosop, Kampung Salungkapit, and Kampung Tukar, where they were happily greeted by the village heads and villagers.
A total of 119 flood-affected families received over RM3,000 worth of food items such as rice, salt, sugar, biscuits, and instant noodles.
BTHC president, Md Rusli Bin Suheli stated that the club, established on March 1, 2015 was its first ever humanitarian mission made by the club to help the villagers who suffered from the recent floods.
“It is our desire to see similar activities be carried out regularly,” he said after delivering the donations to the families.
“I would like to thank all members of BTHC for their contributions to ensure the success of our mission in Pitas.
