Motorcyclist Dies After Ramming Into Stationery Range Rover At Jalan Tun M

LABUAN: Police are urging eyewitnesses to come forward to help in investigations into an accident early Wednesday morning which saw a young man die after his motorcycle crashing into a stalled four-wheel drive vehicle.

Ramli Samil, 20, was flung off his motorcycle after he had apparently lost control of the machine he was riding at Jalan Tun Mustapha. The incident took place opposite the Labuan Airport, in the 2.36am.

It is understood that Ramli was heading towards Pohon Batu. He lost control of the motorcycle and rammed into a Range Rover which was parked by the roadside due to a punctured tyre.

Medical personnel confirmed that he had died at the scene of the crash.

Assistant Commissioner Adzhar Othman, the Labuan police chief urged eyewitnesses to come forward to assist in the investigation.

He also said the victim’s body was taken to Labuan Nucleus Hospital.

The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) (A) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

ACP Adzhar said the number of accident cases reduced to nine compared to 17 last year.

The Range Rover was parked at the side of the road due to an alleged punctured tyre.
