KOTA MARUDU: The Barisan Nasional Government puts top priority on education development as a long term strategy to uplift the people’s socio-economic and well-being, especially rural folks.
Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili in disclosing this said numerous assistance are given to students, right from primary years to undergraduates, to provide better learning environment for them.
“Assistance like cash hand-outs for early school terms is disbursed to school-goers, as well as for those who come from lower income groups, including provisions of uniforms, shoes, textbooks and school milk programme.
“Not many countries in the world provide such enormous support for education,” said Ongkili when presenting the RM100 aid for 146 pupils of Sekolah Kebangsaan Mosolog, here, Friday.
The scheme is part of the government’s aid allocated for needy students while RM250 1Malaysia book vouchers are given to higher learning institution students.
Stressing that “with education, one can do anything”, the Kota Marudu Member of Parliament also urged parents to ensure their children fully utilise these assistance to excel in their education pursuits.
